Grasse,
Gorges du Verdon, Aiguines
Today,
we meet for breakfast at 8:00 AM and at 9:00 we leave Nice to go
to Grasse. Grasse is a village were perfume factories are located.
We tour "Fragonard" perfume factory. There we learn how
perfume is made now and the way it use to be made. Also,
the showroom was great because you could purchase perfumes. There
was a costume museum of Provence dress. The village was so quaint.
We were on our own after the tour until 1:00 PM.
Then off to see Gorges du Verdon, France’s Grand Canyon. This trip made
me a little bet nervous, no guardrails along the narrow road. I was setting
on the side of the bus and all I could see was a bottomless pit. The weather
is overcast and some light showers. After an afternoon of driving around the
gorges, we were glad to see our hotel in Aiguines. The hotel was nice but small,
we had to divide the group between the towns two hotels. Our dinner was a white
fish with white butter sauce, salad, asparagus and chocolate mouse for dessert
along with wine. It was very delicous.
